Produced in Shanxi province in the late nineteenth century, this beautiful antique desk would work perfectly in a home office, or could be used as a unique, characterful dressing table. The finish and detail is all original, the once deep, rich black lacquer worn over the years to give a more varied, multi-tone colour with a wonderful patina particularly on the top surface. The desk is made from poplar wood, in a typical frame and panel design with legs that end in classic horse hoof feet.
