Description
This beautifully cast bronze boar is a reproduction of a Chinese 'zun' wine vessel in an antiqued, verdigris finish. Bronze vessels like this one were used first during China's Shang dynasty (1600 to 1046 BC) as part of religious ceremonies. Zun were used to hold wine and could be either in a round or square vase form or, as in this case, in the form of an animal.
