About this kitchen:
This contemporary kitchen with a double island features handleless furniture by Austrian brand, EWE, and was designed for clients living in a 20th Century house with Art Deco features. The kitchen is in a large square room with lots of natural light and it features a porcelain tile parquet floor to reflect the architectural style of the property.

To make use of the large square space, Gavin Alexander, design manager at Searle & Taylor suggested a modern handleless kitchen with the double island format, one to incorporate the sink and the other to incorporate the food preparation area and the hob. A neutral ‘panna’ colour was chosen for the tall cabinetry, while matt anthracite glass was used for the island door fronts and for a run of cabinets to complement the Art Deco black-framed glass doors that lead to the living area.

To enhance, yet contrast, with the look of the parquet floor, the clients chose stunningly textured Mango wood to create a bridged breakfast bar across the two islands. Cooking appliances are all by Gaggenau, the wine cooler is by Caple, the ceiling extractor is by Westin, the sinks are by Franke, taps are by Quooker and the worktop is steel grey granite.
