About this banquette seat for captions:
This bespoke banquette seat was designed by Darren Taylor at Searle & Taylor for clients that had also commissioned a bespoke kitchen and walk-in pantry for their new home project in Hampshire. Functioning as a dining and entertaining area, it is situated in a bay recess featuring Crittall windows that comprises part of an open plan space leading from the kitchen to the living room.
Custom-designed to fit within the bay, the 5-metre by 2.15-metre wood frame painted in Stone 2 by Paint & Paper Library includes dark stained oak decorative alcove cabinets on each end panel. Behind both is a concealed cushion storage cabinet with recessed handle that opens using a piano hinge along the top shelf. Cut outs were created for lamp wires and for a Kaelo integrated wine cooler on each corner nook. LED lighting strips run the entire base of the seat to make a feature of the banquette at night. The fabrics for the upholstery and the blinds were chosen by the client are both by Rose Uniacke.
All other accessories were sourced by the client. The dining table is a Miniforms Monoplauto 240cm x 130cm table in Black Ash from Go Modern Ltd. and the two chairs are Fritz Hansen Series 7 in Merlot Shell with rose gold legs from The Conran Shop. The Pendant light is Triad 3 in aged brass by Apparatus Studio.
