Our Nabara Cast Aluminium Planter in antique brass has a distinctive silhouette with a ribbed design and a softer, textured finish that comes from the cast metal process. This piece is made using traditional sand cast aluminium. The process involves preparing a mould from sand and heating the aluminium until it liquifies. The molten aluminium is then poured into the mould and, on cooling, the cast aluminium piece is removed. Sand cast aluminium has low dimensional accuracy which results in a rough surface finish, with irregular organic patination often occurring. The piece is then treated with an antique brass finish.
