The Karlaplan street scene has been created by layering elements onto the hand painted street scene, such as the people under the umbrellas creating a striking two-dimensional effect when photographed.

Each design is named after a person or a place close to my heart back home in Sweden, inspired by my personal upbringing and family traditions.

Matching medium size placemats, Swedish birch wood tray and coasters also available in the Karlaplan design. This is our new delivery of Karlaplan in a brighter colour palette with lacquered edges of the eucalyptus board. The artwork presents a two dimensional effect, however the finish is completely smooth.

DESIGN INSPIRATION: Karlaplan is inspired by the open park plaza in Östermalm (with the same name), the upper east district of central Stockholm. It was designed in the image of Place de l’Étoile in Paris. The location remains one of the most exclusive places to live in the Swedish capital.
