In a dusky lilac leather with colourful hand painted blooms, our beautiful babouche are a true celebration of slow craft, flower power style!
Over months of collaboration we have developed this very special line of leather babouche slippers, they are decorated with intricate designs painted entirely by hand. Based in a small studio on the outskirts of Marrakech we worked with Rachid, a highly skilled artist, and Mohamed, maker of the finest leather slippers, to design the patterns and refine the colour palette for these stunning babouche.
The art of delicately painting traditional motifs and botanically inspired, interlaced patterns has hundreds of years of history and heritage in Morocco. Zouak is a technique of decorating wooden ceilings, doors and windows in sacred spaces and family homes, and has passed down through the generations over many centuries. We have been inspired by these authentic designs and translated them into our unique collection of leather slippers.
