Description
Designed in Sussex by French Bedroom’s design team, the Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship and visual dialogue between French and Swedish furniture designs. The collection offers new classics for the discerning eye.
With neoclassicist characteristics such as clarity of form and strong horizontal and vertical lines that render the pieces timeless, the mirror is inspired by the clean-lined and architectural Gustavian form.
The Gustavian collection pays tribute to the kinship that exists between French and Swedish furniture designs. Determined to turn Stockholm into 'the Paris of the North', King Gustav III married French and Swedish furniture design to create timeless furniture that exudes simplistic elegance.
Inherently Gustavian in style, Gustavian mirror can be hung in either a portrait or landscape orientation with integral fixing plates on the mirror reverse. The solid ash wood is hand-carved with meticulous detail before being stained with a rich and decadent stain, evoking a feeling of quiet luxury. In true Gustavian style, symmetrical stepped corners have been added to the body of the frame before being finished with two rows of contemporary carved pearl beading.
Pair with the Gustavian Chest or Dressing Table for a hallway or bedroom centrepiece.
Matching furniture available in The Gustavian Collection of gustavian french furniture.
