Description

The Galah, also known as the pink and grey cockatoo or rose-breasted cockatoo, is an important seed disperser - many seeds germinate after galahs carry them to another site and then drop them intact or partially eaten. Interestingly, female galahs have pink eyes, and males have dark brown eyes.
The animal head is carefully and intricately hand-carved from lime wood and painted with water-based acrylic paint. The attached strong metal hook can easily hold a school bag or a jacket, a towel or jewellery. Each head is a little different and, therefore, unique. The sturdy metal hook and the galah head together are approx. 11 cm high and 5 cm wide.
