A-door-able décor!

Interest in front door décor surges as homeowners look to ramp up their kerb appeal

Homeowners looking to revamp their home’s entrance are not alone, as new research shows consumer interest in front doors are soaring.

Using data from Pinterest, eco paint brand Victory Colours found searches for the term ‘front door inspiration’ have increased 400 per cent over the last month.

The terms ‘front door design’ and ‘front door décor’ have also rocketed over the same period.

Searches for individual door colours, including pink, green and blue, are also on the rise.

Victoria Yardley, founder of Victory Colours, said: “Your front door is part of the home’s kerb appeal and it’s amazing how a simple lick of paint can transform the look and feel of your home’s entrance.

“Front doors are all about making a statement, and if yours has seen better days, now is the time to revamp.”

According to Victoria, the best front door colours are the ones that work with your home’s character while offering a welcoming feel.

She said: “Classic navy is always a winner – it’s elegant, works with any style, and never looks dated. Deep green shades, think heritage or olive green, are a fantastic nod to nature and feel wonderfully grounding.

“If you want something soft yet stylish, muted sage green or warm clay tones create an inviting entrance without being overpowering.

“And of course, for that timeless touch, you can’t go wrong with a rich, black – it’s the little black dress of front doors!”

But take heed, some colours can be tricky to get right on a front door.

Victoria added: “Very pale pastels tend to get washed out in bright daylight, losing their impact, while super neon or fluorescent shades might be a bit too garish for most homes.

“And while pure white seems like a safe bet, it can be a nightmare to keep clean. The goal is to pick something that suits your home’s exterior while still standing the test of time – and the British weather!”

Victory Colours’ range of Exterior Wood and Metal Eggshell paint is available now, priced at £64.95 for 2.5-litres.
