Spring Interior Trends: Embrace Alabaster Elegance and the Green Revival

As we welcome the new season, two interior trends are making waves this spring: the timeless charm of Alabaster and the refreshing versatility of green.

According to interior stylist Victoria Foster from ScS, these shades aren’t just passing by — they offer long-term style, functionality, and an easy way to refresh your home for Spring 2025.

Alabaster: Understated sophistication

Alabaster, a warm, off-white hue, continues to grow in popularity for its soft, serene aesthetic and unmatched versatility. “It’s timeless and stylish and can be adapted in any room of the house,” says Foster. “Not everyone can afford to constantly redecorate, so choosing a balanced, neutral shade like Alabaster allows your space to evolve with the trends, without needing a total overhaul.”

Ideal for smaller spaces and north-facing rooms, Alabaster reflects light beautifully, creating a calming and inviting atmosphere. Foster recommends pairing it with textures like velvet or corduroy and adding soft accent colours such as peach or olive green. Accent colours such as peach or olive green. “It’s also perfect for lime wash effects and works just as well on walls or woodwork,” she adds.

To keep an Alabaster-themed room from feeling too clinical, Foster suggests layering natural wood, metallic finishes, and deeper accents like charcoal, navy, or forest green. “This contrast adds personality while keeping the overall look elegant and harmonious.”

Green: Nature-inspired energy

On the bolder side of the spring palette, green has emerged as a top trend — from soft sage to rich emerald. “Green brings balance, calm, and a real connection to nature,” says Foster. “It’s uplifting and grounding at the same time, making it ideal for living rooms and social spaces.”

Whether you opt for a plush olive-green recliner or a sleek sage sofa, green works beautifully with both neutral and vibrant palettes. Foster’s styling tip: “Pair green with blush pink or mustard yellow for a playful spring vibe. Just remember to ground bold combinations with a neutral backdrop.”

For a minimalist look, pair green with whites and soft greys. For a traditional feel, layer emerald tones with rich woods and antique details. And for the boho-inspired, mix lime green or pistachio with natural materials, layered textures, and patterned cushions.

Timeless meets trendy

While Alabaster offers enduring elegance, green injects a burst of seasonal energy. Together, they’re a dynamic duo for spring — blending timeless neutrals with vibrant, nature-inspired colour. Whether you’re reimagining a whole room or just updating your accessories, these two trends promise to breathe new life into any space.
