This year, the Portuguese brand HOMMÉS Studio will not exist in a single space but will be everywhere—emotionally, virtually, and conceptually. ECHOES transforms Milan into a boundless gallery where visitors can explore the intersection of design, technology, space, and time.

As Milan Design Week suggests for 2025, the theme centers around the intersection of design and technology. In response, HOMMMÉS provokes and creates a space where visitors can expect a digital take on the city—an immersive journey through spaces where design moves beyond physical boundaries.

“We believe that everyone, in every part of the world, can be part of Milan Design Week. We are returning to where we started, thinking about virtual spaces, augmented realities, and AI merging with design,” says Micael Carvalho, creative director of HOMMÉS Studio.

Beginning at the city's heart, from the iconic Duomo, the brand takes visitors into seven urban squares, where virtual installations redefine the design experience. Architecture, interiors, and art dissolve into an immersive, multi-sensory journey.

HOMMÉS Studio challenges the traditional exhibition format, blending the real and the virtual. This is more than an installation—it is a movement toward a future where design exists beyond material form and ECHOES through sound, space, and memory.

“The future of events is no longer confined to matter or physical spaces. It is fluid, responsive, and limitless. The digital does not replace but amplifies, like ECHOES,” explains Micael.

Milan Design Week 2025 will never be the same—because now, it’s everywhere.

Since its debut at Milan Design Week, HOMMÉS Studio has consistently redefined the intersection of design and technology. In 2022, the studio explored virtual environments, dissolving the boundaries between color and digital design.

In 2023, it invited audiences to rethink the essence of space, embarking on a journey through new creative realms. Now, ECHOES emerges as a multi-sensory experience, offering a glimpse into the future of design.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Portuguese designer Micael Carvalho, known for his visionary concepts, captivates the Milan Design Week audience annually with HOMMÉS Studio. The multidisciplinary artist finds in interior design the ultimate manifestation of his passion for art history and the visual arts, from photography and painting to digital design. Born to a mother whose family is connected to handmade textiles and handcrafted fashion and a father who loves photography and nature, Micael learnt from an early age to explore the beauty in the simplest things. His attraction for all that is aesthetic and authentic was cultivated during his childhood. For him, home is the main source of inspiration: “Home is more than a space where you live. It should be your creative haven with the power to transform, inspire and change your soul’.
