Porcelain Superstore on the tile trends set to dominate this spring

The experts at independent tile retailer Porcelain Superstore are sharing their predictions on the tile trends that will rule interiors this spring.

From the colours that are rising in popularity to the finishes and textures that will be everywhere, the team at Porcelain Superstore have used their knowledge of the market – honed over almost a decade in the industry – as well as consumer insight to shape their forecast.

Abbas Youssefi, Managing Director of Porcelain Superstore, said: “Natural influences are going to be everywhere in 2025, influencing the major design choices we make in the home. From colour palettes to finishes, we will see nods to natural world everywhere.

“We will also see historical nods to the past with the monochromatic elegance of Victoriana and Art Deco-inspired geometric stripes proving popular.”

Here Abbas talks through the top trends and how to achieve them in 2025.

Earthy Tones

In terms of colour, it's all about earthy natural tones. Rich terracotta, deep ochres, soft clay hues and of course warm beiges.

Abbas said: “These shades reflect a shift towards calming, nature-inspired interiors that feel grounding and timeless."

The night sky and luscious forests are also making their presence felt when it comes to colour choices.

Abbas added: “While green continues to dominate, we're also seeing a move towards deep navy and smoky blues. Dwell Cobalt is fast catching up Dwell Emerald as our most popular wall tile.”

Texture Trends

Artisanal-style tiles that have textured finishes, similar to the handmade beauties of centuries ago will reign supreme according to Abbas.

He said: “Tiles with a luscious glaze, softly undulating surfaces and subtle size variations continue to be popular. They're a great way to add warmth and depth to splashbacks.”

Slatted wood tiles really came to the fore in 2024 and will continue to be a hot trend in 2025.

Abbas said: “We'll see a move away from bathroom feature walls and into other areas of the home, including fireplaces, kitchen islands and living rooms, as more people look to create grooved feature walls with all the benefits of porcelain."

Past Times

Nods to the past will emerge in 2025 with a modern spin on Victoriana and Art Deco-inspired styling emerging as a micro trend.

Abbas said: “Checkerboard floors are back. Classic black and white leads the way but other tonal takes are coming in. It's easy to create your own design, by using two contrasting coloured tiles from the same range

“In a similar vein, striped walls are set to be a niche trend in 2025. Again, you can just take two different colours from the same collection, and lay the tiles in alternate colour columns. It's a great way to create a completely new look that feels individual and won't fail to catch the eye.”
