Cherry Red. An interiors colour that will most likely divide opinion, but we’re firmly in the camp of ‘loving it!’.

If last year was all about the unexpected red theory, this year is an updated and refreshed version, with the shade Cherry Red taking centre stage. This time around, this particular shade is making its mark, and with good reason as it is so rich, warming and inviting.

Grazzie Wilson, Head of Creative at Ca’ Pietra, explains: “Red is one of the highest energy colours that you can add to your home. But it's important to get the balance just right. Add red to your home across accents, be that a tile or soft accessory but don't over-do it. An injection of red can really be infectious. Brighter pops of red really helps to create impact and boost energy while deeper reds help to ground you.

“When it comes to Cherry Red, you can apply the same principles of unexpected red theory and just add a smattering of cherry red to your interiors, perhaps in the form of a pop of tiles to bring to life your fireplace. Doing so, draws the eye in and lets you create a bigger feature out of this area of your living room.”

Want to fall in love with the hue Cherry Red in your own home? Here’s our pick of tiles to help you on your way.

JAMBOREE

One of the newest and most exciting launches at Ca’ Pietra is Jamboree. Celebrating the feeling of a festival, the range of carnival colours includes wine field, a deliciously deep and inviting shade of cherry red. Use as a solid colour or mix it up with a tri tile or other colours in the collection.

Each Jamboree tile is hand painted and fired here in the UK and can be used on your walls in any room of the home.

ABBEY

Next up we have Abbey. A subtle take on bringing Chery Red to the home, Abbey’s tile pattern is taken from a medieval European Motif and encapsulates a soft, understated elegance.

The perfect tile for those who love the richness of Cherry Red but want an understated version, it is paired with softer pinks. If styling was up to us, our take would be to use in a way that transports you to a whimsical cottage, with softer shades, layers of fabrics and textural finishing touches. An old fashioned claw foot bath would complete the look.

MAROC BORDEAUX

Last and by no means least is Maroc Bordeaux. Our take on a Zellige tile, Maroc has a deep glossy finish on a slightly undulated surface that makes you want to run your hands over it and bask in its texture.

Suitable for both walls and floors, you can have bucket loads of fun styling this one. From creating stripes with other colours in the range, to checkerboard patterns on the floor. How you style this take on Cherry Red is up to you.
