It’s a city famous for its contributions to the motor and music industries but now Detroit is shaping interior design by inspiring a new wall tile collection from independent tile specialists Porcelain Superstore.
The Detroit Collection is a three-strong range of sleek, elongated metro tiles in a striking brick-effect finish. It is available in three finishes: White, Red and Mix.
Crafted from porcelain, each tile has a textured finish to offer an authentic, industrial finish that begs to be touched.
Abbas Youssefi, Managing Director of Porcelain Superstore, said: “Detroit is renowned for its rich industrial heritage and these rustic tiles pay homage to the workshops and warehouses which once dominated the city.”
Boasting a staggering 100 unique designs within each collection, the overall effect is mesmerising, adding depth and character to any interior. Plus, the long shape of these tiles feels contemporary – offering a new spin on classic brick-effect tiles.
But the true value of Detroit lies in its adaptability. Completely resistant to water, they can be laid over splashbacks, shower walls and can even be used outside – ideal for those who want to cover up unsightly walls.
And because they’re made from quality porcelain, they can also be laid on floors, even in high footfalls areas such as kitchens and hallways. And thanks to their texture, they score an R10 slip rating, so they can also be laid in wet areas such as bathrooms.
Abbas added: “A bit like the city they are named after, Detroit is an adaptable beauty. Not only can it be used on both walls and floors, and across many different areas of the home, but it can also be laid in a herringbone, traditional brick bond or with random joins and still look the part.”
The Detroit Collection is available now from Porcelain Superstore, priced at £58.80 per m2.
