SS25 Collection - The Way We Were, launching for London Fashion Week 12th September 2024.
The Way We Were SS25 is a print collection that evokes a feeling of optimism
and hope. Inspired by Lancashire lasses working in the mills during the 19th
century and the essence of being a woman, the women that once were and the
women we are today. Having recently become a mother the collection is an
interplay between the two eras, a celebration of women then and now, juggling
motherhood and work in our everyday multifaceted lives. The collection features
bold graphic florals inspired by vintage botanical florals, juxtaposed with a
textured tonal floral print. Shapes were inspired by the mill workers everyday
outfits, printed pussybow blouses and long skirts in contrast with comfortable
workwear shoes. The colour palette for the collection was influenced by
northern buses from the 1960’s - 80’s, creamy ivory hues, sage greens and
bright pops of red and burgundy.
The collection consists of the highest quality silks, cottons and experimental
materials, all of our fabrics are printed in the UK, and all of our garments are
hand crafted in the North West, working with amazing local artisans. Once a
place pioneering in the cotton industry, our mission is to preserve manufacturing
and craftsmanship in the North. We believe in creating well made garments
designed to last, produced in small quantities to preserve the environment, made
by local communities to create a positive impact in society.
Hannah Zahran is a luxury womenswear brand specialising in printed textile
design, creating elevated daywear and occasionwear pieces based in
Lancashire. The half British, half Jordanian designer originates from the Middle
East and was raised in Lancashire, North West England.
Hannah studied at London College of Fashion before working in the fashion
industry for luxury brand ERDEM and premium brand HOBBS. The brand
demonstrates a modern sophisticated aesthetic, focusing on mixed media print
processes through screen printing and digital print, with colour being an integral
part of the brand. Inspired by home, heritage and the beautiful surroundings of
the everyday, all prints are hand drawn and intricately designed, to create bold
feminine prints. There’s a simplicity to the silhouettes to emphasise prints, the
shapes are unrestricted and elegant, designed for comfort and functionality,
creating a sense of empowerment through shape and colour.
