Featuring the work of artists from the Warlukurlangu and Ikunjti Art Centres, Outback Tails offers luxurious dog beds, hand-crafted leather collars, harnesses, dog bandanas, and earth-friendly dog toys - all adorned with beautiful, authentic and unique Indigenous artwork, with 10% of sales of each product sold goes directly back to the featured artist.
Since its inception, Outback Tails has donated over $100,000 to remote Indigenous communities through royalty sales of products. Outback Tails further raises funds for the Aussie Desert Dogs rescue program in Yuendumu, run by Gloria Morales through the sales of their Desert Dog Chew Toys. Gloria is currently looking after over 40 rescue dogs from her home in the Central Desert and hopes to re-home them through her program to new owners in urban areas throughout Australia.
Dogs play a major role in Indigenous culture and communities, and Outback Tails founder Jessica Knight experienced this firsthand on a trip to the Warlukurlangu arts centre. As the artists painted, dogs roamed around soaking up the sunshine and inspiring the artists - who often depicted them in their work.
