The story behind Helen Round

Introduction

At Helen Round, we craft beautiful hand-made products using ethically sourced materials and traditional techniques, helping people live sustainably.

We believe in encouraging conscious choice and the positive impact this can have on our planet.  We print and make our linen and bamboo products in our studio in south east Cornwall, UK and ship our products worldwide.

How it began

Our story began in early 2012 at Helen’s kitchen table with a simple vision: to create beautiful products for the home that last. Frustrated by the disposable nature of modern consumerism, Helen set out to create products that enhance our homes and minimise our environmental footprint. The business has grown and we are now a fabulous team of 10 people, all driven by the same purpose.

Important milestones

Starting with Oeko-Tex® certified linen products which meet high safety and environmental standards, we then introduced soft bamboo towelling, also a sustainable product, allowing us to develop a range of eco bathroom products.

We use every off-cut from our studio, with a zero waste approach. We proud to be part of Made In Cornwall, alongside winning awards for our products, most recently a Best Buy at the Green Parent Awards.

Our core values

Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of every product we create. We have designed a range of beautiful products that replace things that would otherwise be single use, making it easy and intuitive to live more sustainably.

We carefully select low-impact materials, ensuring that our collections are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly and made to last.

Team spotlight

Our team live and work locally - we could not operate without them. Together, we cut, print and make all our linen and bamboo products in our studio at Maker Heights. Each product is quality assured before being put on the shelves, into our stockroom or shipped to our customers worldwide. The team comes up with new product ideas, social media and marketing content and together we enjoy the inspiring environment and supportive business community here at Maker Heights in south east Cornwall, UK.

Looking ahead

We support initiatives that help drive our mission, like Plastic Free July and the Real Bread Campaigns. We fund raise with a local charity, The Old Ship, to support affordable homes for young people locally and an international charity, Bees for Development which trains beekeepers in poor and remote communities, alleviating poverty and encouraging environments for bees to thrive.  We aim to go beyond the remit of our business and give back to our community and society.
