Extending their range of premium light switches, leading designer of architectural details, Dowsing & Reynolds, are set to launch an exclusive range of smart dimmer switches.

Featuring the same screwless metal backplate and tactile knurled dimmer dials as the original range, this new innovation features a concealed smart module (Zigbee D587-ZG), developed exclusively for Dowsing & Reynolds.

Using WiFi technology rather than Bluetooth, the new smart dimmer switches make it easy for customers to control the ambience through their existing smart devices, without compromising on interior aesthetics.

On launching the new smart dimmer collection, founder and designer James Dowsing-Reynolds said, “We first looked into smart switches around five years ago, but it was too early to really pinpoint what a smart home actually looked like. So, we took the time to test different technologies and decipher what a smart home meant.

For me, it was really important that the design wasn’t too ‘technical’ - it needed to integrate seamlessly into any home, whether that’s a modern apartment or a period property. It should feel accessible to everyone, whilst coordinating with the rest of their switches and sockets, which is why we chose to run with our original dimmer design.”

The smart dimmer switches will be available in eight different backplate finishes: black, white, silver, chrome, gold, smoked gold, antique brass and tarnished copper, with the same colours available for customising the dimmer finishes.
