A home design expert has released tips on how Brits can decorate their homes tastefully to celebrate the Coronation this May.
 
With parties set to take place across the UK this Spring for the Coronation of King Charles III, Brits will likely be starting to plan how to dress their homes accordingly for the celebrations.
 
To help Brits decorate their homes tastefully in time for the Coronation, a home design expert from eco-friendly paint company Earthborn has released their top tips to help elevate the prestige of your Coronation party decor. Design Expert, Cathryn Sanders commented:
 
“Brits love to go all out for a royal event, with flags, hats, banners and bunting all staples of a classic celebration. However cheap, plastic products with a union jack stuck on them can often end up looking pretty tacky. For those looking for a more low-key vibe for their Coronation festivities, there are a number of subtle but sophisticated ways in which you can decorate your home tastefully.”
 
  1. Know your royal colours
 
“Reds, whites and blues are an essential colour scheme when celebrating a royal occasion, but choosing the right shades for your living space can make all the difference. Vibrant, eye-catching shades can be cheerful and fun, but softer or more muted shades offer an air of elegance and regality without overpowering a room. Switching out your neons for pastels or richer tones is a simple way to inject a bit of class into your Coronation event.”
 
“Other colours such as purple, silver and gold are equally associated with royalty and adopting them into your Coronation decor is a great way to change things up whilst remaining on theme.”
 
  1. Old is gold
 
“Luxury doesn’t have to cost you a fortune, and shopping for your Coronation decor second-hand is an affordable and sustainable option that could produce some really unique yet timeless results.”

  1. Ditch the plastic
 
“Plastic is a prevalent party material as it is accessible and can be bought in bulk. However, it can appear less aesthetically pleasing than other materials, is notoriously bad for the environment, and can come across as tacky rather than tasteful.”
 
“Instead, switch to paper where possible. This material is becoming much more popular and widely available due to its eco-friendly properties, making it easy to recycle your decorations after you have finished with them. It shouldn’t be too different in terms of costs, but will make a huge difference to the final look of your party.”
 
“Paper has a much more artisanal feel than plastic which is hugely appealing, particularly when used to make your own party decor. For example, paper chains and place settings can be made out of paper, and have a rustic, vintage feel if something like brown parcel paper is used.”
 
“If you want to try your hand with other materials, create your bunting out of fabric. Old clothes or bedsheets are ideal for this if you don’t fancy splashing the cash. You can even get creative and use leftover paint to add your own pretty patterns and designs to your decor.”

“Nothing says Spring like being surrounded by blooming flowers, and floral decor makes the perfect backdrop for any party. It seems that flowers such as lilies, daisies, delphiniums and sweet peas are a hit amongst members of the royal family, all great choices if you want to impress your guests with your royal knowledge.”
