Set striking accents or blend harmoniously into the interior? In bold colours or discreet white? Made of plastic or metal? Light switches can be far more than mere utilitarian objects. In rare cases, they even become real design icons. Like the JUNG classic LS 990.

At the end of the 1960s, the JUNG company set new standards in switch design with the development of the LS 990. The look of the switch was fundamentally different from the toggle switches that were common at the time: Inspired by the design principles of the Bauhaus, the design was reduced to the essentials. The result was not only a new aesthetic but also great user-friendliness; the range became the benchmark for the further development of light switches. Today, the LS 990 is considered a classic and has been supplemented over the years with new colours, materials and design variants.

In 1999, JUNG launched the first switch of the LS range in stainless steel and in 2002 the first aluminium range. This was followed by versions in bright chrome, brass and even real gold. Since 2014, JUNG has also been offering the LS 990 in the 63 original colours Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier, thus opening up new possibilities for colour design in the field of electrical installation. Switches, sockets and control elements are hand-painted in a special process to faithfully reproduce the impressive colour depth of Le Corbusier's universal colour system.

In 2016, the LS ZERO was developed as a consistently flush-mounted variant of the LS 990. The range is installed in such a way that flowing, even transitions between switches and surfaces are created. The combination of visual reduction and functional diversity has earned LS ZERO several design awards. Finally, the LS 1912 was launched in 2018 as a homage to earlier JUNG switches. It combines the iconic narrow frame of the LS 990 with a toggle made of real metal, which is available in various shapes and materials. The toggle lever adds a special charm to the switch, allowing the mechanics of switching to be experienced in a new way. For more information on the LS 990, visit www.jung.de.
