Christmas is all about creating new experiences to be shared by friends and family - as well as rediscovering the rituals of Christmas past.
This season people are also embracing the earth-kind agenda and exploring how they can celebrate sustainably without undue impact on the environment – or their pockets! As people reject waste and look towards small-scale artisan production, eco-friendly materials and resourceful repurposing, Paperstarlights are proud to unwrap their new range of handmade, fairly traded and re-usable Paper Star Lanterns.
Coming in a clever flatpacked form, each lantern folds open into an enchanting 3-dimensional star which simply ties over a light source and transforms a space instantly.
Paperstarlights co-founder Andy Jupp explains: “Our paper stars are handmade from responsibly sourced paper and screenprinted using traditional techniques. What’s more, once the party’s over, they fold flat again and can be stored, treasured and rediscovered as a keepsake for many Christmases to come!”
Paperstarlights new ranges reflect this season’s emerging and recurring trends.

A Celestial Season
Autumn/ Winter 2022 sees the stars aligning for celestial designs. Motifs of the sky are making their way into everything from wallpapers to textiles and furniture. “Take inspiration from the night sky and incorporate it into your Christmas repertoire”, suggests Andy. “Your Christmas tree can take on a celestial theme with stars, planets and moons as ornaments and your decorations can feature images of the night sky. As a finishing touch, hang one of our celestial-inspired ‘Night Sky’ designs over your Christmas tree to create a heavenly tree-topper”.

That Hygge Feeling
This Scandi-driven trend is a seasonal perennial. It’s all about creating a cosy harmonious environment using neutral tones and a minimalist aesthetic - select grounding hues such as shades of light grey, champagne, caramel and creams to create a sense of calm and relaxation. “These colours contribute to a feeling of homely balance and will help you create a space that’s all about connecting in comfort”, explains Andy. “Our hand-made neutral stars add warmth and depth to a space whilst accentuating the clean lines and minimalist vibe of the Scandi aesthetic. This trend will see your star lantern taking centre stage time and again!"

A Colourful Christmas
With its traditional palette of deep reds and natural greens, Christmas has always been colourful! But why stop there? Our new range of daring Bohemian designs takes inspiration from a bold approach to colour and combines a bright, eclectic palette with a delicate design aesthetic. “Our Bohemian designs capture a free-spirited approach derived from travel and festivals and we want to bring a sense of free-spirited wandering - and wonder - into the still centre of the home," explains Andy. “Our Boho range will enhance any colour palette and can be re-used to re-invigorate your décor, year after year.”
