Finnish design brand Feathr, the Home of Artisan Wallpaper, today announces the launch of the first wallpaper collection designed specifically to encourage wellbeing. The Essence Wallpaper collection has been developed in partnership with colour psychology and features eleven tonal colour schemes, each created to engender and arouse particular mood states.
Finland is famed for being the happiest country in the world: the Essence wallpaper collection aims to use colour to spread some of that contentment around the world. Colour is proven to affect mood. Research from Durham University demonstrated that the colour red improves competitiveness, whilst a study from the Mid-Sweden University found the effect of blue light to be similar to caffeine. Inspired by insights such as these, the designs in the Essence collection employ a core colour to target a particular mood state.
Each of the Essence wallpapers features a subtle ombre effect, with the focus colour seguing into a complementary shade: encouraging a smooth flow into a new mood state, whilst also offering interior designers a progressive colour palette around which to design. Essence Energize features a vibrant yellow colour block gently segueing into a soft toned white. Yellow is an energizing and motivating colour associated with mood enhancement, extroversion and optimism.
