INK System represents a turning point in the lighting scene: it revisits the concept of a luminaire, pulling it apart and back together again, reformulating the ABC of lighting. Starting from a simple conductor cable in rubber, elastic and thin, the light becomes a continuous strip with indirect emission, suspended a short distance from the ceiling. The same cable, combined with the special extrusion for walls and ceilings, transforms into a luminous path that furnishes spaces and forms the basis for the different “letters” that will go on to compose the entire system: spotlights, linear profiles and suspension lamps from the same family.
Created by Linea Light Group in Italy, INK System is the perfect solution to overcome problems due to incomplete pre-existing systems or limitations imposed by the context: tight spaces, delicate quality materials that need to be protected, an insufficient number of light sources, and even the impossibility to install drivers remotely. In a few words: maximum versatility on every surface in any space, even those with considerable installation limits. INK System is not a single lamp available in different versions, but rather a genuine system with multiple products, which all share a common concept.
Light profiles and linear suspensions with diffused emission or with controlled UGR thanks to dedicated darklight cells, adjustable spotlights with three different optics and spot suspensions. The INK range includes numerous lighting products with an ultra-quick coupling system to the rubber cable: simply select the preferred position, fix the luminaire by applying slight pressure and screw in the safety set screws with the supplied Allen key. The cable acts as a safe and reliable conductor, does not require any protections or special installation measures, and allows utmost freedom of positioning. Changing is incredibly easy: simply extract the product and move it to wherever you like, then reposition it along the cable. Given the frequent changes affecting display areas throughout the year, the advantage is clear: the light easily adapts to the location, to the configuration of the spaces and to the evolution of display logics, and not vice versa!
INK System adopts the “DALI Point-to-Point” protocol, which allows the DALI luminaires hooked along the cable to be individually dimmed:essentially, you can decide whether to turn each luminaire on, off, or regulate its intensity, separately from the others: a great advantage in terms of versatility of use and control of the lighting effects!
To satisfy special compositional needs, small wall or ceiling brackets have been introduced, allowing the cable to be curved, with the possibility to create indirect lighting effects by anchoring the supplied LED strip.
Another recent introduction to the INK family is the new flush system, a range upgrade allowing the use of different-sized profiles to install the cable flush with the surface. The modules compatible with this system feature a new type of safety coupling with a hex key as opposed to side ring nuts.
And for spaces with important vaults, beams and precious ceilings, such as boutiques in historical city centres? No problem: overhead installation makes it possible to solve both the need for ambient lighting and the possibility to freely position the spotlights. Flexible and minimalist, the cable allows the insertion of a high-performance LED strip for particularly soft indirect ceiling lighting; at the same time, it also acts as a conductor on which all compatible devices can be attached, allowing the adoption of various lighting solutions perfect for every type of display scenario. The cable thus becomes a suspended system able to wind itself far and wide through the various spaces, all starting from a single light source.
