Founded by husband & wife team Gavin & Charlie in 2019, Sleepy Bee Studio is a creative design studio based in Cambridge, specialising in luxury stationery & gifts. Charlie’s background is in buying, illustration & product design, and Gav is a graphic designer & artworker.

The stationery collections are all based on themes, with the first four all inspired by their hometown of Cambridge and aptly named Cambridge, Botanical, Darwin & Stargazer.

The advantage of having different artistic backgrounds is that there’s a lot of experimentation involved to suit the particular theme of the product, rather than sticking to one particular style. The incorporation of different media such as ink & watercolour with modern typography or classic calligraphy opens up the range to suit different tastes.

Packaging is a really important factor in everything produced, and so everything is presented in either recyclable or reusable materials whilst keeping the look of the product beautiful, premium & something you almost don’t want to unwrap. All printed products are produced in the UK using FSC® certified stock & the illustrated tissue paper is produced by an Eco-Alliance company that plants a tree for each order placed.
